German Company Sets Conversion Efficiency Record for Organic PV Cells
Heliatek GmbH, a spin-out from the Technical University of Dresden and the University of Ulm, announced that its organic solar cells have set a new world record by achieving an efficiency of 9.8%. This was for a 1 cm² tandem cell and the figure was verified independently by the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems.
